Saint Michael (also an Archangel) is chief of the Celestial Host and victor over the powers of evil. He is represented as winged, with a banner, and with the scales weighing the souls of men in the balance.

Saint Raphael is the guardian angel of humanity and watcher of pilgrims and wayfarers. He is one of the four Archangels mentioned in Tobit 12:15. He carries the staff as a pilgrim and the flame which is a symbol of love.

The Saint Raphael and Saint Michael windows were given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Cora B. Whitney (1866-1918), a long time teacher and principal of the school (now senior living residence) that bears her name.
